I — Introduction

The Content Department governs all user-generated material shared within Bangwing IN, including art, crafts, photography, writing, poems, songs, edits, banners, selfies, gallery dumps, and any other creative or personal content. These guidelines establish standards for what can be posted, how to properly credit and share work, responsibilities for sensitive information, and expectations for content quality and appropriateness.

Unlike the Engagement Department which focuses on participation behavior, the Content Department specifically addresses the material itself — what you create, share, and post within community spaces. Responsible content sharing protects creators' rights, maintains community safety, and fosters a culture where creativity thrives.

II — Core Principles

# Principle Summary
1 Creator Accountability Members are personally responsible for all content they post, including consequences of sharing sensitive, copyrighted, or inappropriate content.
2 Intellectual Property Respect All content must be original, properly credited with creator permission, or fall under fair use/public domain. Respecting IP protects creators' livelihoods.
3 Appropriate Content for Mixed Audiences All content must be suitable for a community including minors (13+). Sexual, racist, abusive, or deeply offensive content is prohibited in public spaces.
4 Purposeful Content Organization Content should be posted in appropriate channels with accurate tags. Proper categorization respects creators and helps members navigate.
5 Authentic Recognition Content reception must be organic and authentic. Manipulating engagement metrics or creating artificial popularity undermines genuine creative appreciation.

III — Rules

All rules apply at all times. Ignorance of a rule does not exempt a member from consequences. Intent is considered in determining severity of response — but does not determine whether a rule applies.

Rule 1 — Personal Responsibility for Sensitive Information

Members who post content containing sensitive personal information do so at their own discretion and are primarily responsible for the privacy implications of what they choose to share. Posting another person's identifying personal information without their explicit consent is strictly prohibited, regardless of framing.

Moderation Action Reasons Do not post other members' identifying personal information — including real name, home or school address, phone number, or workplace — without their explicit consent.
